Mpho Mothoa - Managing Director

BTech Extractive Metallurgy (TUT), G.D.E Mineral Economics (WITS), First and Middle Management (UNISA)



He is the founding member of the Company and holds 45% share. Prior to establishing Ingwenya, Mpho trained as a metallurgist at Kumba Resources (Exxaro) and worked his way up to be a Section Head of Production. He joined DeBeers Group in 2003 at the Kimberley Mines as Assistant Plant Superintendent. In 2005 he became a Plant Superintendent at Xstrata Coal Division’s ATCOM Colliery. He has 14 years in plant experience and is a registered member of Fossil Fuel Foundation of Africa and South African Coal Processing Society respectively.



Neville Matodes - Technical Director

HNDT Extractive Metallurgy, Executive Development Programme (UNISA)



He has over 30 years’ operational and management experience. He worked for Anglo Coal as a Plant Manager for 15 years and the latter as an Area Manager. His expertise in designing coal preparation plants, commissioning, Due diligence and feasibility investigation, has resulted in successful projects both and South Africa and overseas. He is a registered member of Mine Metallurgical Managers Association of SA and South African Coal Processing Society. He is a founding member of Ingwenya Mineral Processing (Pty) Ltd.



Renier Swart - Operations General manager

BTech Extractive Metallurgy (TUT), Basic Coal Preparation, First Line Management Certificate (Growth Link), Middle Management Certificate (UNISA), SHEQ Integration System & Auditor on Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001).



He has 20 years’ experience in Coal Processing Plants. Prior to joining Ingwenya, for Iscor as a Metallurgy Holder for 3 years. He start at Kumba Resources (Exxaro) as Metallurgist and Lab Research Technician and worked his way up to be responsible for Plant Improvements, Projects and Process Development. From 2010, Renier joined Minopex and Phola Coal respectively as a Plant Manager.



Stand Reynolds - Senior Process Engineer

Advanced Coal Preparation Diploma



He has over 35 years’ experience on the Operation and design of coal processing facilities. Prior to joining Ingwenya, he worked for GMB Processing and has contributed to successful projects.


Gibson Mzinda - Design Draughtsman

National Diploma Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Project Management, Advanced 3D Modeling Draughting.



He has over 10 years’ experience as a dedicated and technically skilled Draughtsman. He was developed a versatile administrative support skill set through academic training and the various projects has worked on.


Deon Ackermann - Financial Manager


Deon has 38 years’ experience in the financial management field. He started as a Technical Officer, which entailed guidance in land protection and agricultural guidance at Agriculture Technical Services in 1969.


In July 1975 worked at Highveld Development Board, as Township manager, which entailed finances, budgets, and general managing of the townships. He then joined BHP Billiton (Koornfontein), as a General Cost Accountant, responsible for operating costs of the mines, annual and monthly budgeting.


Prior to joining Ingwenya, he was at Alluex Naledi and Kwena Mineral Processing respectively as Financial Manager.



Thabisile Manzini - Assistant Financial Manager

BTech: Cost and Management Accounting (VUT)



Prior to joining Ingwenya, Thabisile worked for Sentinel Accountants and Auditors

(Currently PricewaterhouseCoopers – Witbank) as a Trainee Accountant. She has 4 and half years’ experience in External Auditing and Accounting, which acquainted her with difference sectors and industries in the business world.
